Euro 2012 day 2

Just like every avid football fan out there (I'm a Chelsea man, a proud one for that matter), I've been waiting eagerly for this year's Euro cup to kick off. A lil confession here; I'm not crazy about footie. but i realized a while back that my social standing is increased when I'm able to participate in and contribute to conversations on football, especially the EPL. In Naij, as a guy, u need to be able to talk politics, current affairs, football and something else. The 1st is key before and after elections. last 2 (not including something else) are important all the time.

Because I'm not well versed in football like I'd like to be, I just try to focus on games/teams where my fav players would feature (see me talking like its a film). yesterday's games weren't ones to look forward to until i realised that my fav keeper, Peter Cech, was keeping goal for, what's their name again? Czechoslovakia? sorry, Czech republic. Dude was almost shamed in goal. he took in 4. lets blame it on the defenders. after all he helped us win (him and the Drogbs!) the champions league. Twas interesting to watch though, but was interrupted more often than I'd like to by a 'friend'.

Today's games are more promising. Netherlands playing Denmark (Denmark already up with one goal) and Germany playing Portugal later on. Who's going to be 'featuring'? CR 7 (or is it 9) :) He's spectacular to watch (no homo). Hope he wont let me down tonight sha. Schweinsteiger should also play for Germany. Let's hope he plays better than he did against Chelsea...lol.

It's 9 minutes past 5 on a Saturday evening and I'm offshore, somewhere off the coast of the Niger Delta. Working offshore has advantages and disadvantages but maybe more of the former. Ordinarily, I should spend 12 hours a day at work but how is that physically possible? Even the company knows this and thats why we are given an hour for lunch :) but that aside, i still allocate some free time for me during work time. There's something silly I like to say : I work during my free time! May not sound silly when you read it being typed but saying it is funny. to me anywayz.

Out of 12 hrs, I think I've spent just 4 hours doing company work. But I'm sure the company doesn't mind. If I finish all my work today what will I do tomorrow right? I actually haven't been faffing all day (less 4 hrs). The genteleman has been trying to develop himself. I'm at a 'turning' point in my life where I have to take a huge step in one of the key areas of life and I need to know what I'm doing. Not like I don't know how to go about what I want to do, but I want to get a sign from somewhere, anywhere, that'll make me feel I'm headed in the right direction. Sounds like film-things right? may be so. maybe I just have cold feet. It's a committed relationship I'm talking about. Some people call it marriage. some call it self imposed prison sentence. Some have advised me not to do it. some say its the most beautiful thing in the world. some wish they never did it. But I can't be listening to what everybody thinks cos for a while now, I've known that nobody really knows anything (about the future). People can only give opinions based on their limited past experiences so i'm just going to do what I have to do and stick to my decision.

Anywayz, I have quite a lot on my plate now. The decision thing, a business I just started with my buddy, a business I myt be winding down with another buddy, of course my current work, investments in property I have on the line, and maintaing certain (may be unnecessarily) relationships I'm currently engaged in. I'll be giving you gist on these relationships as time goes by.

Life is fun, life is interesting, but only if you choose to live it so.

I think it's about time I start sharing my mind wanderings/musing with the world. I've always thought I have a colorful imagination and, without sounding too proud, many people have told me so.
